Upon request, we offer the installation of a PIR insulation board between the timber faceplate and the fascia board. This optional enhancement is recommended particularly if there are heightened levels of condensation within the cavity wall. The additional insulation effectively mitigates the effects of cold bridging. It's important to note that if the PIR board is installed, adjustments may be necessary such as fitting an additional row of cloaking tiles on the roof or further cutting back the concrete. This could extend the duration of the installation process and may require additional access equipment.
When opting for PIR insulation board installation, ventilated soffit is essential. The PIR board requires ventilation from both above and below as per the manufacturer's specifications in order to function optimally.
